Exciting News …

Hello! Welcome, especially if you are new to Friends & Flowers, I’m thrilled you have joined me here. I hope you and yours are well and staying safe in these still-challenging times.

If you’ve read My Path to Publication, then you will know something of my experience with writing and publishing to this point. I’m so pleased to have achieved the long-held ambition of becoming a published author and the release of The Cottage of New Beginnings as an eBook has made that possible. I had been thinking of writing an epilogue to the book and I’m happy to say I’ve now finished a first draft.

Going back to Annie and Jon’s story a few months on has been great fun, and I’m delighted to share that the epilogue will coincide with a December release in paperback. I read many books on Kindle and wouldn’t be without it, but it will be a special moment when I am able to put my own book alongside those already on my shelves. The epilogue definitely needs work to get it into shape and that will be my focus for the next couple of weeks. Then I’ll be delving into edits for The Garden of Little Rose, which is due out in February and I’m sure the weeks in between will be just as busy.

Before restrictions changed again, I was able to spend a couple of fabulous days on the Kintyre peninsula, a truly beautiful and inspiring place. This quick trip was related to The Garden of Little Rose and also planning for Book 5. Blue seas, white sands, islands in the distance across the water, I felt as though I could have been in the Caribbean, such were the light and the views. Given the vagaries of the Scottish weather though, it poured down on the day I took the ferry to Gigha. But watching yachts sailing by, people swimming in the sea and cattle on the beach was still a special experience and there’s a (rainy) photo below:

I’m looking forward to returning another time, and hoping the sun will be shining.

To celebrate the paperback release of The Cottage of New Beginnings, I’m offering the first two Friends to reply to this post a signed and personally dedicated copy of the book. Please do get in touch if you’d like to receive one of these, and I’ll send it on with another small gift.

Until next time, happy reading, whichever books you choose.

Wow! Congratulations on the upcoming paperback release. Can’t wait to have a physical copy on my shelves – and I might just have to have another read of Annie and Jon’s story! Brilliant news.
